When Hannah disappeared on April 21, 2001, she had told her mum she was heading out to do some window shopping in Dartford. Her body was not found until a workman used a digger to clear dense undergrowth at the site almost a year later on March 15, 2002. A blue rope was still tied around her neck from where she was strangled. But dental records showed that the corpse was not that of the 15-year-old, who disappeared three miles away across the Thames while on her way to school in East Tilbury, Essex, on June 18, 2001.
