Every Awful Thing Trump Has Promised to Do in a Second Term The Austin Police Department spent nearly a month trying to catch the serial bomber without any luck, until a major break in the case this week cracked the investigation wide open. In the past day, police were able to obtain surveillance footage that showed the suspect at a FedEx store in Sunset Valley, a small suburb surrounded by Austin, after they learned the bomber shipped explosive devices from that location. Along with other evidence, including store receipts, authorities were able to trace the suspect back to the Williamson County hotel Tuesday night, officials said. The wave of bombings began March 2nd, when Anthony Stephen House , a 39-year-old father and athlete, was killed by a package bomb left on his front porch.
The videotaped confession left behind by Conditt could provide some closure to the Austin community. But, authorities say they are stuck trying to determine whether releasing it will do more harm than good. There are no further suspects at this time. Cruz: When President Biden visited the area and said everyone would be compensated and we heard that as well from our elected officials, the private philanthropy dollars began to slow down, because everyone thought the government had this. There is so much bureaucracy and red tape. In that process, paperwork gets lost, people are asked to do things over and over again.
And a lot of people are just giving up with the whole process. The government just needs to figure out a better way to get resources on the ground.
Community still needs to be vigilant and careful. City leaders called the officers who ran toward Conditt heroes and thankfully none of them were killed by the blast. The newly released helicopter video was released to the American-Statesman and marks the first major piece of evidence in the Austin bomber case to be publicly released.
