Autodesk Revit 2024 Release
The second example shows a retaining wall. The toposolid can be cut vertically on the back face of the wall which makes editing the toposolid very simple. If desired, cut and fill can also be calculated with a toposurface by using graded regions. Sheet, Revision and View updates Building on the updates from the previous releases, Autodesk are making working with sheets a little easier. In Revit 2024 we can now move views between sheets and keep alignments and positions. The best feature is being able to add a revision to multiple sheets. Multiple views can now be moved to other sheets either by selecting the views or simply dragging and dropping from the project browser. Revision clouds can now be scheduled which, again, has been a long-standing request from users. The revision schedule can be created in a similar way to any other schedule. However, we now can schedule fields from the Revision, Sheet, View and the Project Information which is useful when issuing sheets.
Structural Updates As in the previous release, the focus remains on the workflows and toolsets with the analytical modeling process. Also, we see some strengthening of the reinforcement tools with the addition of bending details and alignment control when using freeform rebar. I will also look at the update from Revit 2023. Loads have been overhauled and the older non hosted loads have been replaced with parametric, intelligent Point, Line and Area loads. These new tools are easier to use and increase accuracy and predictability when creating loads in Revit. Reinforcement Let us begin with the new features and updates with reinforcement. I will begin with the Bending Details which will be especially useful for non-standard rebar shapes. Here in the UK United Kingdom we only tend to detail non-standard shapes and only show these details in the bending schedule, but I know that other countries have a requirement for bending details on all rebar. Bending Details are created as true vector geometry and, as such, will update and change automatically if the host rebar is amended.
Bending details can be placed in views by selecting the reinforcement bar and then selecting the Bending Detail command from the context ribbon. The detail can then be placed in a free location, or you can use the Align to Bar command to keep the detail orthogonal. The Bending Detail is driven by standard Revit Type properties and, as such, you can have multiple types that you can use in different situations. The Bending Details also make use of Revit dimension styles so you will need to setup a couple of dimension styles to support the Bending Detail tools.

There is also a new default template, a fantastic sample model, and UI improvements. Dynamo and the Dynamo Player keep getting better. Finally, there are dozens of small changes to improve the usability of various tools. This post covers General and Architecture features. Specific MEP and Structure improvements are mentioned, but the complete notes are available on Autodesk blog post. Toposurface have been killed and replaced by Toposolid. The Subregion tool has been replaced by Sub-Divide. The way you create site elements is completely different. The following pages are going to cover these significant changes. What if floors and toposurfaces had a baby together? The new toposolid tool works in a very similar way to floors. First, you need to sketch an extrusion boundary with purple lines. Then, you can modify the Sub Elements in a similar way to Roofs and Floors. Add points at specific heights to create the slopes. The points contextual menu is a bit different from the standard floors and roofs you are used to. This new menu has actually been available since Revit 2023. When adding a point, you can either pick Along Surface or Absolute Height. This tool now works with concave site shapes. Again, the new toposolid tool is similar to floors. You can modify the structure with materials of various thicknesses.
Revit 2024 lets you adjust the height of schedule rows for: Improved Readability: Make schedule data easily readable and understandable. Revit 2024 allows you to place multiple views on a sheet simultaneously, saving you valuable time and effort. This feature is especially helpful for: Consistent Revisions: Ensure all relevant sheets reflect the same changes instantly.
Again, this is the first iteration, and I am sure we will see other additions to this new feature in future releases. We will now look at a feature that was released in Revit 2023. Whilst this is an amazingly simple tool it really makes a difference when working with rebar. In the example below we have a rebar set which is configured for the spacing and number of bars. If I add additional bars, they may end up on the wrong end of the rebar set. Another new tool in Revit 2024 allows us to control the alignment of freeform rebar when placing along a path. In previous releases, the rebar would stay aligned to the path, but we can now align the rebar vertically if required. An example of this is shown below with the curved wall with a tapering base. In this example, the rebar is aligned vertically but still runs along the path.
Analytical Modelling Updates Many of these updates happened in Revit 2023. Lat year we saw the introduction of an independent analytical model that could be managed and controlled separately from the physical model. To strengthen this workflow, we have some new tools to help with the definition of the analytical model. We can now create curved panels. The curved panel is then created. When defining the analytical model, previously you would need to manually associate this to its physical counterpart, but we now have a new assisted option. This is, of course, much more efficient and will eliminate mistakes. The physical or analytical model can both be used to build the counterpart automatically. For example, if the engineer has started to build the analysis model in Revit, the technician can then use Dynamo Player to create the physical model based on the analytical model properties. Analytical Loads The loads in previous releases were split into two groups, we had hosted loads and non-hosted loads which could be point, line or area loads.
The non hosted loads would not update and would have needed to be recreated when the analytical model updated. Also, point loads were exceedingly difficult to place in precise locations and had to be done in plan views with workplanes. The new loads in Revit 2024 are now simpler and are always hosted. Each load type has distinct options to assist when placing the load onto the analytical element.
This style can be described as a hybrid mode between Consistent Colors and Realistic. It will show textures like in the Realistic mode but without the global lights which sometimes can be a little buggy on floorplans. You can use the Texture style for presentation in 3D views, or floor planners, for example. However, Revit 2024 has introduced its own Color Book. This Color Book has premade colors of different sets that can be used for different materials, filled regions, etc. Not only do the Color Books feature a variety of pre-existing color sets, such as Pantone colors, but they have also expanded to include RAL colors. Furthermore, you are allowed to search for a color in the blank field below the Color Books dialog. In order to use this feature properly, you need to be very precise when typing your search terms into the blank field. After downloading or creating your own Color Book, you can put the. Also, the visual styles are very inconsistent in their behavior when adding them to your project and when printing them in Vector Or Raster mode. Thankfully, in Revit 2024 you are allowed to change the draw order in the Arrange panel of the family editor. Use the Bring to Front or Send to Back buttons to re-arrange the draw order. The visual behavior is fixed and acts correctly now in the family, project, and when printing in Vector or Raster mode.
This complex sample model replaced a house that was a sample model for a very long time. New Multi-discipline template imperial and metric. Single template file that replaces templates from previous versions. This improved template includes Views and Sheets set for multiple disciplines and coordination, legend views with symbols and text styles. Improved Project Browser. The Project Browser is modernized and the Search bar is added. Resizable dialogs. Dialog windows can be resized. Project parameters are sorted alphabetically. You can add prefix to the parameter name to sort it as you want. In Revit 2023, the project parameters are sorted chronologically. Improved visualization Improved integration with Twinmotion. Auto Sync with Twinmotion provides a live link between Revit and Twinmotion. New visual style: Textures. This visual style displays material textures consistently, without lighting effects. Using this visual style you can easily test textures prior to rendering. These two commands, from the right-click menu, are related to views. They were introduced in Revit 2023. Drag multiple views to sheet. Place multiple views, legends and schedules on a sheet at once. The views will be placed in a grid format. Improved schedules. The row height is no more determined by the font size or by width of the image column.

Revit-2024: что нового для инженеров
Скрытие изоляции вместе с трубой или воздуховодом Если выделить воздуховод или трубу с изоляцией и скрыть воздуховод или трубу, то вместе с ними скроется и их изоляция. Скорее это удобно, чем излишне. Обычно новички сталкиваются с проблемой, что трубу скрыли фильтром, а на 3Д-виде какая-то как будто труба осталась, выделить нельзя, непонятно, что это. Теперь такого не будет, скрыли основу — скрывается и изоляция. Ориентация аннотаций воздухораспределителей В семейства воздухораспределителей добавили галочку «Сохранять ориентацию аннотаций». Ранее её добавляли в другие категории, теперь дело и до решёток дошло.
Галочка позволяет отображать на плане вложенное семейство аннотаций, даже если воздухораспределитель установлен не параллельно уровню. Новая категория «Дополнительные каркасы MEP» Эта категория больше ориентирована на модуль Fabrication — то есть для производителей и монтажников воздуховодов. В России им не пользуются, так что пригодится ли категория — непонятно. Кроме того, заметил ещё в 2023 Revit категорию «Виброизоляторы», её видно только при создании параметра с типоразмером семейства, в других окнах не заметил. Та же ерунда с категорией «Обозначения подъемов и опусков».
Фильтрация по отметкам труб, воздуховодов, лотков и коробов Теперь при создании фильтра для труб, воздуховодов, лотков и коробов можно выбирать кучу всяких отметок, в том числе с учётом изоляции. Обновление формулы Халанда для воздуховодов Просто цитата из справки: «Обновлена формула Халанда для расчета потери давления в прямом сегменте воздуховода. Теперь вместо эквивалентного диаметра используется гидравлический диаметр». Особо добавить нечего. Модель энергопотребления с учётом скрытых элементов Если кто-то этим вдруг пользовался, то теперь можно сначала настроить видимость только тех элементов, которые нужны рассчитывать, а уже потом считать.
Ну чисто теоретически тогда можно скрывать ненужные стены и оставлять только один «слой» из стен, предварительно задав ему термическое сопротивление всей стены, и так считать теплопотери. Вот как-то так. Особое предупреждение тем, кто коллекционирует Revit ранних версий 2019 и младше.
Чтобы избежать возможности повторного появления этой проблемы в более старых версиях Revit 2024 в модели проектных групп. Revit 2024 – What’s New
This method can be more complex and time-consuming, but allows you to create any shape you want. Hopefully, we will get a better tool in the future. You can find the Sun settings in the ribbon on the right side. The settings dialog still looks the same as the earlier Revit versions, a minor improvement has been made to the Time Interval feature, which now offers additional increments.
Revit now offers intervals of 15, 30, 45, and 60 seconds, which allows you to analyze shadows with greater accuracy. In addition, you can drag the Sun along its path in Perspective mode instead of using the Orthographic mode. These models are lightweight and elements can be selected.
You can read out the information from the selected element in the Properties Browser. One of the main benefits is the capability to link models from previous versions of Revit without upgrading them. This feature is very useful when collaborating with other stakeholders who are working with older model versions.
Once you have linked Coordination Models, you can manage these files in the Coordination Model tab located in the Manage Links menu. As you can see in the example below, every surface of the floor has been aligned individually with the same pattern. To reset the pattern, you can use the Entire Surface again.

При работе с видами в перспективе можно перетаскивать солнце вдоль его траектории Изменение размера всех строк в спецификациях, размещенных на листах! Теперь для четкого представления компонентов, таких как текст, изображения и графические данные, можно изменить размер всех строк спецификации, размещенной на листе. Для этого на палитре свойств «Графика спецификации» задайте значение «Все» для параметра «Изменить размер строк» и введите требуемое значение для параметра «Высота строки». Теперь высоту строк в спецификациях можно будет легко настроить по ГОСТ высотой 8 мм. Размещение нескольких видов и спецификаций! На листе одновременно можно разместить несколько видов и спецификаций, перетащив их из Диспетчера проекта или выбрав несколько элементов в диалоговом окне «Выбор вида». С помощью функций поиска в диалоговом окне «Выбор вида» можно легко находить виды и спецификации, которые требуется разместить на листе. Выбранные виды и спецификации размещаются плитками рядом с курсором, что упрощает их упорядочивание на листе.

Again, this is the first iteration, and I am sure we will see other additions to this new feature in future releases. We will now look at a feature that was released in Revit 2023.
Whilst this is an amazingly simple tool it really makes a difference when working with rebar. In the example below we have a rebar set which is configured for the spacing and number of bars. If I add additional bars, they may end up on the wrong end of the rebar set.
Another new tool in Revit 2024 allows us to control the alignment of freeform rebar when placing along a path. In previous releases, the rebar would stay aligned to the path, but we can now align the rebar vertically if required. An example of this is shown below with the curved wall with a tapering base.
In this example, the rebar is aligned vertically but still runs along the path. Analytical Modelling Updates Many of these updates happened in Revit 2023. Lat year we saw the introduction of an independent analytical model that could be managed and controlled separately from the physical model.
To strengthen this workflow, we have some new tools to help with the definition of the analytical model. We can now create curved panels. The curved panel is then created.
When defining the analytical model, previously you would need to manually associate this to its physical counterpart, but we now have a new assisted option. This is, of course, much more efficient and will eliminate mistakes. The physical or analytical model can both be used to build the counterpart automatically.
For example, if the engineer has started to build the analysis model in Revit, the technician can then use Dynamo Player to create the physical model based on the analytical model properties. Analytical Loads The loads in previous releases were split into two groups, we had hosted loads and non-hosted loads which could be point, line or area loads. The non hosted loads would not update and would have needed to be recreated when the analytical model updated.
Also, point loads were exceedingly difficult to place in precise locations and had to be done in plan views with workplanes. The new loads in Revit 2024 are now simpler and are always hosted. Each load type has distinct options to assist when placing the load onto the analytical element.
Revit designers can easily make an animation for their projects, delivering design ideas more effectively to clients. Built-in asset library: Architects and landscape designers using Revit 2024 no longer need to search for models or materials over the Internet. You can sync perspectives, materials, models, and lights from Revit to D5. Later changes made in Revit can also been synced in real time.
