She was only 12 years old when she took home the win on the competition series after stunning both the judges and the audience with her amazing performances. Using a variety of puppets, Darci has shown off her beautiful singing voice and even rapping abilities while performing ventriloquism at the same time. Growing up, Darci always had a passion for singing, but was too shy to perform in front of an audience.
After discovering the art of ventriloquy, Darci picked up the hobby and began perfecting her skills. Creating the illusion that her voice is coming from elsewhere, such as her puppets, Darci has mastered the craft of throwing her voice through the technique of ventriloquism.
She introduced her to ventriloquism and the rest was history. Darci Lynne was gifted her first puppet by her parents for her 10th birthday. She named it Katie. Her performance caught the attention of Gary Owen who later became her coach and business manager. Only 12 at the time, Darci Lynne was named winner of season 12.

В финале она использовала две куклы и спела за обеих марионеток, мужским вокалом, за куклу Оскара, и вторым вокалом за, уже знакомую членам жюри, куклу Петунию. В итоге, Дарси заняла в шоу второе место, уступив канадскому фокуснику китайского происхождения Шин Лиму. Девушка мечтает и дальше развивать свои навыки и способности в чревовещании, сниматься в кино и выступать на Бродвее. Я думаю у неё все получится.
Юная артистка рассказала, что стала заниматься чревовещанием, чтобы преодолеть стеснение. Ей было трудно общаться с окружающими, а с помощью вентрологии было проще контактировать с людьми. Уровень мастерства чревовещателя измеряется способностью скрывать то, что звук, голос исходит от него самого, сохраняя на лице полную неподвижность. Даже имитировать разговор другого объекта довольно сложно, но, пожалуй, еще сложнее петь. При пении необходимо вдыхать гораздо больше воздуха, чем при разговоре, причем вдыхать неравномерно. Напевать или исполнять простые музыкальные произведения — это для чревовещателей высокого уровня преодолимая высота.
